Rancilio Silvia V3 (2009 Edition)

The new Rancilio Silvia V3 (2009 Edition) has set a new standard for coffee machines. Silvia V3 semi-automatic espresso machine is an upgraded version of the Rancilio Silvia V2, including commercial grade steam wand, redesigned steam knob and portafilter handle with classic look. The Rancilio Silvia V3 features a heavy duty brass boiler (capacity 12 oz), chrome plated portafilter and two commercial sized 58 mm filter baskets. The Silvia is also ESE pod-adaptable, so you can use convenient Easy Serve Espresso pods by installing a Rancilio Pod Adapter kit (purchase separately) on your Silvia. The Rancilio Silvia V3 comes with a 7 gram coffee scoop, a plastic tamper and a detailed instruction manual.

Features

Construction
The exterior of the machine, drip pan and cup tray are made of durable, top quality brushed stainless steel. The frame that supports the unit is made of heavy iron. The machine stands 13.25"H x 11.25"W x 9.25"D and weighs 30 pounds.

Easy Controls
The main power switch is located at the center and the brew switch is at the top left that activates the pump. Turn on the middle button on the left to dispense hot water. A switch at the bottom left activates the steam function. When it is turned on the boiler starts heating up to steam temperature. Then turn the steam/water knob located on the side of the machine and start frothing.

Brew Group
Made of chrome plated marine brass, the commercial grade brew group ensures even heat and water distribution and provides a superior brewing environment resulting in highly consistent espresso extraction.

Commercial-Grade Portafilter and Filter Baskets
The Rancilio Silvia V3 uses a heavy-duty portafilter, which features a newly designed grip handle. The chrome plated brass portafilter keeps the temperature stable throughout the entire brewing process, thereby producing a great shot of espresso. The Silvia V3 also comes with two commercial sized filter baskets (a single and double shot version) which both measure 58mm in diameter.

Brass Boiler and 3 Thermostats
The Rancilio Silvia's boiler (12 oz.) is made of marine grade brass. It provides best steaming powers and quicker recycling times when brewing multiple espressos. The brass construction resists scale build up and pitting for long lasting durability. Three thermostats are built into the machine. One monitors the temperature for espresso, the other controls the temperature for steam and the third monitors the boiler to protect it from overheating.

3 Way Solenoid Valve
The three-way solenoid valve is a commercial feature that relieves the water pressure off the coffee when the brew switch is turned off. The valve dries out the used ground coffee in the portafilter immediately after the brewing is finished. So you can straight away remove the handle, easily knock the dried coffee out and reset of the machine for another shot.

Upgraded Milk Frothing
Another striking feature of the Rancilio Silvia V3 is its commercial grade stainless steel steam wand and newly engineered single hole milk frothing tip that helps you create café-style drinks. Opening and closing the steam tap is a breeze with its redesigned steam knob.

Hot Water Dispenser
If you want hot water for tea, hot chocolate, Americanos or soup, simply turn on the brew switch and open the steam knob. Hot water will begin to stream out.

Water Reservoir
The water reservoir (67 oz. capacity) is removable for easy cleaning. You can fill it while the machine is operating or remove it for filling at the sink.

Drip Pan and Cup Tray
The drip pan and cup tray, both made of stainless steel are removable for easy cleaning. A cup-warming surface located on the top of the machine keeps your espresso cups warm that is a prerequisite of perfect espresso.

Rancilio Rocky Doser Grinder 2009

The Rancilio Rocky has been branded as the all-around champ of home espresso grinders for years. The Rancilio Rocky Doser Grinder 2009 is updated with a removable plastic tray at the bottom to collect stray coffee grounds and a new smoked blue bean hopper (capacity 10 oz) to protect coffee beans from UV rays. The doser model grinds roasted coffee beans into a dosing chamber where you can get ready to pull 7 grams of ground coffee for quick serving. The forks under the doser are designed to hold the portafilter but these are removable with the help of screwdriver, so you are free to use any receptacle you want to catch the coffee.

The Rancilio Rocky has brushed stainless steel housing with heavy-duty plastic accents. The machine stands 5.25"W x 9.75"D x 13.75"H and weighs 17 lbs.

Dosing Grinder
The Rancilio Rocky is made to be used with virtually any espresso machine. It has a doser built in, dishing out about 7 grams of ground coffee per click on the doser lever. The two forks that hold your espresso machine portafilter in place are removable with a screwdriver, so you are free to use any other receptacle to catch the coffee.

Commercial Quality Grinding Burrs
Consistent grind size is of great importance to achieve better taste and aroma. The Rancilio Rocky features long lasting, commercial-grade hardened steel 50 mm flat burrs to produce uniform grind size. A consistent and fine grind is even more important if you are grinding coffee for an espresso machine.

Multiple Grind Settings
The Rancilio Rocky Coffee Grinder has 55 Grind settings, ranging from coarse French press to ultra-fine Turkish. To change settings, just push down on a release lever and turn the bean hopper.

Heavy Duty Motor
Rocky’s powerful 166-watt direct drive motor has 1,725 RPM reduction. This ensures that the ground coffee does not burn and also makes it a very quiet and robust grinder. The motor is outfitted with a high temperature overload sensor switch to prevent any possible damage if a stone or other similar particle gets caught in the burrs accidently.

Coffee Bean Hopper 
The Rancilio Rocky features a 10-oz capacity bean hopper made of molded, smoked blue plastic. It protects the whole coffee beans from UV rays and maintains their freshness.
