Features
Construction The polished stainless steel housing rests on a powder-coated heavy steel frame that provides anti-rust and corrosion protection to the Livia 90. The unit measures 13"H x 11"W x 15"D and weighs 37 lbs.
Control Panel The control panel located on the front of the machine features heavy duty rocker type switches with built in indicator lights. The switch on the left is the main power switch-used to heat the boiler. The switch on the right is the brew/pump switch used to start/stop the brewing process. The green light indicates when the power is on and the orange light lets you know when the boiler is heating. The boiler pressure gauge located below the main control panel monitors the pressure in the boiler and indicates when the machine is at the optimum pressure for brewing espresso.
Heat Exchanger Boiler The large 1.5 liter heat exchanger (HX) boiler of the Pasquini Livia 90 is made of heavy duty copper and is equipped with an advanced 1200 watt heating element. Its commercial style boiler allows you to brew espresso and steam at the same time. HX model consists of two components: the main boiler housing and an isolated water pipe. The water pipe is the heat exchanger through water flows to brew espresso. The boiler provides a nearly unlimited amount of steam for milk frothing and at the same time transfers heat to the heat exchanger to bring the brewing water to the right temperature.
Boiler Protection System The water level in the boiler is controlled by an ‘Electronic Boiler Refill Control’ to ensure protection against over-heating or burnout. It senses when the water level in the boiler is low and turns the pump on. The pump will take water from the reservoir and pump it into the boiler. If the machine runs out of water and the Auto Fill system is unable to refill the boiler, the system will automatically turn the machine off to prevent overheating and damage to the heating element.
Commercial Size and Style Portafilter The commercial grade portafilter of the Livia 90 is made of solid marine grade brass- an exceptional heat conductor to maintain the proper brewing temperature for espresso. It is then chrome plated for the ultimate corrosion resistant and easy-to-clean surface. The stainless steel portafilter baskets that fit inside come in single and double shots and measure 58 mm wide, so that the water is distributed evenly over a wide surface area. The handle is made of high quality plastic for easy handling and insulation.
Commercial Brew Group This is the portion of the machine that the portafilter locks into. It is made of chrome plated marine brass which provides a superior brewing environment through maximum heat stability and component longevity.
3-Way Solenoid Valve The 3-Way solenoid valve prevents over-extraction of espresso by regulating the brewing pressure. It blows off excess pressure at the end of the brewing cycle to help dry out the spent espresso puck. The 3-way valve also makes it possible for ‘back-flushing’ and cleaning of the brew group.
Steam Wand The steam wand creates unlimited, effortless foam for cappuccinos or lattes. On the left side of the machine, the steam pipe, made of chrome plated brass has two tips to choose from- one of the tips resembles a more traditional commercial design that is made of stainless steel and a second tip is made of Teflon. It is larger and is equipped with small holes on its side that draw in outside air, which is then directed into the milk and the outcome is café-style cappuccino and creamy latte.
Hot Water On the right side of the machine is a dedicated spout for hot water. It dispenses hot water for tea, hot chocolate, americano or soup. Simply turn the knob on the right and the Livia 90 will immediately dispense near boiling temperature water.
Powerful Pump High-performance 15-bar pump provides uniform and constant pump pressure making a superior espresso with thick crema.
Pressure Relief Valve and Anti Suction Valve The pressure relief valve is a safety valve that will open and release pressure in the boiler if it is rises too high. The anti-suction valve is a part inside the steam valve that prevents milk from being sucked into the boiler when steam condenses thereby contaminating the boiler.
Heavy Duty Electrical System The power supply and stable electrical system allow the Livia 90 to be left on all day, so it's always ready to brew espresso or steam milk.
Water Reservoir The large 3.5 Liter water tank allows for an endless supply of coffee or steam. You may refill the water tank from the top any time during the operation or remove the tank to refill at your tap. The tank has a built-in particulate filter helping to prevent foreign particles from entering the pump and boiler.
Cup Warming Plate Warm espresso cups are essential for great tasting espresso. The Pasquini Livia 90 offers a polished stainless steel passive cup warming surface on top of the unit to ensure that espresso doesn’t lose temperature when poured into a cold cup.
Removable Drip & Cup Tray Both the sturdy plastic drip tray and the polished stainless steel cup tray are removable and easy to clean.
Accessories Pasquini Livia 90 comes with a detailed instruction manual, coffee tamper, measuring spoon, Polycaf espresso machine cleaner, grouphead cleaning brush, 1 blind filter basket for use in back-flushing and warranty.
