Italian pioneer Achille Gaggia is known as the Father of the Modern Espresso Machine. He invented the first lever piston espresso machine in 1948, bringing a revolution in the world of espresso brewing. Even after six decades, Gaggia is still the leading brand of espresso machines. The reason for this persistent dominance is Gaggia's commitment to the quality of the products that it produces and their sustained durability.
The Gaggia Espresso Color, housed in bright red impact resistant ABS plastic is truly a stylish standout. Inside this housing is a stainless steel boiler and a powerful pump (produces up to 15 bars of pressure) to ensure a perfect shot of espresso. The chrome-plated brass group head provides temperature stability, and the portafilter includes filters for single shots, double shots, or pods. For milk-based drinks, the Gaggia Espresso Color offers a Pannarello wand for easy frothing and steaming. A stainless steel passive cup warmer keeps demitasse cups warm for the next brew and the included measuring spoon and tamper ensure simple and effortless brewing. In short, this semi-automatic espresso machine is a welcome addition to any modern kitchen.

Features
Construction The Gaggia Espresso Color is housed in red impact resistant ABS polycarbonate plastic, a durable material that wipes down easily with a damp cloth. Inside is the stainless steel boiler, which provides the necessary heat to steam and brew for a latte, cappuccino or americano. The machine weighs 10.14 lbs; and stands 14"H x 8.3"W x 10.8"D.
Control Panel The Gaggia Espresso Color features an easy to use control panel. From left to right you have the coffee/hot water button, the green ready indicator light, the steam valve knob and the steam button.
Coffee Pod Option The included pod filter basket fits ESE (Easy Serve Espresso) pods, so you can always choose between the convenience of pods or the control afforded by grinding and tamping your own beans. Pods are single servings of ground and tamped espresso, saving your time if you are in a hurry.
Hot Water The machine can also dispense hot water when it is at brewing temperature. Open the steam knob, and press the hot water/coffee switch to dispense hot water out of the steam wand for an americano, tea, or cocoa. When you have your desired amount of water, close the steam knob and press the hot water/coffee switch again.
Pannarello Frothing Wand The Gaggia Espresso Color’s Pannarello frothing wand injects steam into milk, making frothing and steaming simple for cappuccinos or lattes. Press the steam button, wait for the machine to warm up and then open the steam knob to release steam.
Water Reservoir The 42 oz water reservoir of Gaggia Espresso Color can be removed from the back of the machine. Gaggia recommends using filtered or distilled water to prevent scale buildup on the Color’s brewing components. When descaling is necessary, the machine will alert you.
Cleaning A red level indicator rises when the drip tray fills, and when it becomes visible it’s time to empty the drip tray. The drip tray and cover can be rinsed with water. The exterior of the Gaggia Espresso Color can be wiped down with a damp cloth. Clean the steam wand with a damp cloth to remove any milk residue. Remember to clean the filter holder and filter in warm water after each use and the shower disk should be unscrewed and cleaned periodically, depending upon your frequency of use.
