Description

The Crossland Coffee CC1 is a new entry into the home espresso market being championed by Bill Crossland, a well known and respected engineer with many years of experience in the espresso business.

The CC1 offers all the features that are desired on the market. It has a PID temperature controller, programmable pre-infusion, shot timers and a thermoblock for steam production.

Our stock is of the new Version 1.5 with the new and improved diffuser block that retains more heat plus new electromagnetic filters to block electrical interference.
Features
  • PID

The easy to read PID displays brew temperature. You have full control over your extraction temperature and this digital thermostat is much more accurate than traditional mechanical thermostats.

    Thermoblock Enhanced Steam

Switching between steaming and drawing espresso is a snap because steam is generated using a separate thermoblock rather than with the boiler.

    Programmable Pre-Infusion

The CC1 has a feature that allows you to program the amount of pre-infusion. Pre-infusion is when the initial water that enters the group is at a lower pressure. It allows the coffee time to expand before being subjected to the full pressure of the pump and is generally considered to produce a better and more consistent result in the cup.

    Shot Timer

This is a great feature. No need for a stopwatch. The CC1 has a shot timer that will help you dial in your espresso.

    Articulating Steam Wand

The steam wand is on a ball joint and moves in all directions.

CC1 - A Solid Machine March 17, 2014
Reviewer: Ryan O from Woodstock, Ontario
After doing quite a bit of research I settled on a Crossland CC1 paired with a Baratza Vario for my first espresso setup. In my opinion the CC1 is the best bang for your buck machine sub $1000, and really cannot be matched in its price range. Heats up quickly, and steam is ready to go after pulling a shot within seconds. Not to mention pre-infusion is a major plus as well. I would recommend this machine to anyone looking to step up from a less expensive machine, or even as a first machine.

Very good at this price point January 26, 2014

Newer company, Crossland machines have excellent consistency in brewing. Built in PID is great, programmable and easy to use. Fit and finish are good, the reservoir is a little awkward to fill, but being right up front minimizes the risk of running a brew with insufficient water in the reservoir. the 1.5 version has corrected some minor problems with electronics found in version 1.0  This is an excellent machine for those looking to move up from their first entry level machine.
