Commencing with their Santos Vacuum Pot Coffee Maker in 1958, Bodum has always focused on manufacturing products for daily life that are exceptionally beautiful. They have continued to merge design and function in a full line of French presses, kettles, grinders, cups/glasses and various tea and coffee related products that are all beyond comparison in character and style.
Our EILEEN product line was developed in honor of the great Irish designer Eileen Gray (1879 – 1976). First there was the French coffee press – an instant classic – now comes the tea press. Gray loved the bistros and cafés of Paris, her adopted city. So our EILEEN line is specifically designed to withstand the exacting conditions of busy café and restaurant use. A solid steel frame protects the glass from knocks and bumps, and the round handle makes it easy to carry more than one at the time. Who says you can’t have your own private Parisian tea room at home? The 1.5 l EILEEN tea press comes with a spacious filter that lets the tea leaves swirl freely and develop their full aroma. Once the desired strength is reached, you press down the plunger and the tea leaves get locked into the bottom of the filter, stopping the brewing process. It’s the same tea brewing system we developed together with the English Tea Council years ago, combined beautifully with an Eileen Gray inspired modernistic style. EILEEN is made from borosilicate glass, stainless steel, chrome-plated steel and plastic and is dishwasher safe.
If you are tired of brewing tea the same old way with bags or messy infusers, then undoubtedly you need the Bodum Eileen Tea Pot. A smart and classy creation, the Bodum Eileen tea pot prevents your tea from becoming acidic and bitter while displaying the beauty of brewing. Constructed with a borosilicate glass body and a stainless steel infuser, the tea pot works with bagged teas or loose leaf. Once plunged, the filter holds the tea below the infuser holes, so brewing is brought to a tidy halt. The pot has a stay-cool knob, and easily cleans up in the dishwasher with the rod and lid removed.
To brew, simply set the durable stainless steel filter into the glass pot. Fill the strainer with the appropriate amount of your favorite loose-leaf tea. Pour hot water over the leaves, filling the pot. Then set the plunger/lid in place in the up position. Let the tea brew to your liking and then press down on the plunger. The pot compresses the tea leaves below the infusion holes in the strainer, completely stopping the brewing process. The Eileen Tea Pot puts an end to bad tasting, over brewed tea. Once you press, you can rest assured that your first cup and your last cup will taste just the same. There's no need to remove the filter, so there's no mess. When it's time to have tea, let the Bodum Eileen Tea Pot entertain your guests while you relax and watch.
